A star that was under scrutiny not too long ago, and has gone through a lot in the recent months, has made music history. Ariana Grande wowed the world when 3 of her songs from her newest album, "thank you, next" were on the Billboards top 100. This has not been done since The Beatles in 1964. Additionally, Grande has made history by creating the most hits to reach the Top 40 Billboard 100 as a female artist. Her newest album has 12 songs, and 11 are in the Top 40, a record-breaking feat.   

Why Does This Matter?

While her fans are ecstatic, I think women everywhere should be as well. For the past 100 years, feminism, the equality of the sexes, has been sought after. Ariana Grande is showing female musicians that it is possible for them to be successful and be not only number one, but two and three as well. This is an amazing stride for women seeking equality and recognition. Grande tweeted her response to this, "wait what" showing how even she was in disbelief. She went on by tweeting she thought the post was edited at first and thanked her fans for supporting her and help her get to where she is today. Congratulations to Ariana Grande!
